How is robotics used in dentistry?

The revolution of digital technology is the use of robotics in dentistry. Our Clinic applies dental robotics via the CEREC (CEramic REConstruction) system, which is a combination of machines (scanning/camera unit – milling unit) allowing the dentist to produce an immediate restoration in a single visit.

With this latest development of dental technology, you can have the perfect additive restoration for a beautiful and healthy smile in one single session, without repeated anesthesia, impressions, temporary – transitional restoration and multiple appointments at the dentist and the dental laboratory. These restorations are ceramic (complete absence of metal) and are of a very high strength, biocompatibility, fit, longevity and aesthetics. It is only enough to think that 630 different, very high quality materials can currently support this technology (cad/ cam-CEREC).

CEREC CAD/CAM

With the new software CEREC 4.0 we have the possibility to offer our patients a ceramic restoration in one/one and a half hour and in one single session, without using the conventional imprints (often causing discomfort and vomiting) and prosthetic restorations which sometimes produce irritation to the gums. Watch here the explanatory video.

Robotics Dentistry can be applied for:

Inlays & Onlays

The cosmetic alternative solution to amalgam, gold and resin. The all-ceramic inlays and onlays placed in the existing tooth are of a superior quality of the resin fillings.

Crowns & Bridges

The cosmetic solution for teeth that have suffered serious damage. All-ceramic crowns and bridges are ideal for cosmetic restorations in the upper and lower jaw.

Implants

The cosmetic solution for teeth that have been lost. Missing teeth are restored without mobile prosthetic work and without grinding the healthy adjacent teeth to support bridges.

Veneers

The cosmetic solution for front teeth. All ceramic veneers are an extremely thin ceramic layer which is placed directly on the front surface of the teeth.

3Shape

The 3Shape TRIOS dental intraoral scanners allow dentists to display a patient's 3D-impression of their teeth on a screen almost immediately after the scan is complete. When compared to the traditional molding techniques that often cause high levels of discomfort in patients, the 3Shape TRIOS dental intraoral scanner offers a far more quick and convenient method of getting an accurate image of a patient’s teeth in order to create an impression. Instead of forcing a patient to remain seated in a chair for fifteen minutes to complete the impression procedure, the 3Shape TRIOS dental intraoral technology can scan teeth wirelessly in a matter of seconds and without the use of powder, which helps save time and decrease patient discomfort to a large degree. Restorations made from 3Shape TRIOS dental intraoral scanners are not only completed faster, they are also delivered with a more accurate fit and require less adjustments.

These scanners have the ability to measure the shapes of teeth for digital precision while also highlighting details with the incorporation of high-level HD pictures in the 3D model. In addition, the precision of 3Shape TRIOS dental intraoral scanners reduces the need for remakes, so patients don’t have to worry about coming back to the dentist for a do-over.

DSD

Digital smile design is a cosmetic dental procedure that uses computer software to analyse and redesign a patient’s smile. Photographs and videos of the dental proportions of a patient are taken from various angles are fed into proprietary software. The software then suggests potential solutions for restructuring the teeth of a patient. This is known as a smile makeover simulation which allows patients to determine their look before the dental procedure. It has revolutionised cosmetic dental treatments. It can treat anomalies such as tooth root exposure, chipped teeth, misalignment, fracture, etc.

Digital Lab

The use of digital impressions is growing rapidly, and should be considered by every Denver dentist. In our dental lab, we have made the transition from conventional hand designs to digital impressions as part of our continuing growth in new technologies.

Through the use of CAD/CAM design in our dental lab, we are providing digital dentistry fabrications that align us in a superior way with dental practices because of high predictability of outcomes. Merging our state-of-the-art dental lab advancements in digital dentistry with Denver dentists allows them to accomplish more in less time.

Some of those advantages and/or benefits of digital dentistry include:

  • Improved restorations provided by digital dentistry
  • Highly-precise digital impressions provide rapid turnarounds by our dental lab
  • Long-term records storage of digital impressions as a dental lab computer file
  • Digital impressions ensure better restorations fit
  • Digital impressions are preferred by Denver patients
